Connect2Earth

At the website of WWF-Philippines it states

“Earth Hour is a global environmental movement of WWF, aimed at inspiring and empowering individuals, businesses, organizations, and governments to take tangible action for the planet. It has grown from a symbolic event in Sydney 2007 to the world’s largest grassroots environmental movement spanning over 7,000 cities and 180 countries and territories. As the movement grows, the one-hour lights-out event continues to be the symbol of a broader commitment toward the planet. The core message of Earth Hour lies in going Beyond the Hour – on what tangible action you can do after the lights go back on”.

This year the one-hour lights-out took place on Saturday, March 30, 2019 from 8:30pm to 9:30 pm.

In Davao City, we joined the Earth Hour 60+ at SM City Davao Ecoland.

Yes, the message “Go Beyond The Hour And Do Your Share” is very valid, a call that we  need to respond.  It’s kinda difficult I know. But it has to be done and it should be now because we need to #Connect2Earth.

Currently I responded to the call on “repurpose plastics” to come up with #ecobricks.  I started filling plastic bottles with anything plastics that I encounter everyday and also told members of my household not to throw plastics but collect and place them in the designated container.

I thought of building a pet house for my cat Orange.  We are in the process of filling the bottles with plastics from the basic items that we bought packed in plastics.

We collect anything plastic so it won’t go into the ocean as marine creatures might ingest them or  clog waterways that will cause flooding.

I am doing this for my children and all the children and for the love of  #MotherEarth.

As the Native American Proverb tells us  “We do not inherit the earth from our ancestors, we borrow it from our children”  #WooInfo
