Teleperformance now in Davao, targets full operation in 2014


with BPOs locating in Davao City there are more businesses, more jobs, more demand for housing are happening here … with the recent entry here of the biggest customer service provider in the world, the move of “Teleperformance” may attract other BPOs of locating to the South … here’s my story of the recent BPO investor to Davao City 

ImageDAVAO CITY, July 15 (PNA) — The newly opened Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) company in Davao City housed at SM City Davao aims to complete its full operation of 2,000 seats by 2014.

Teleperformance Asia Pacific president David Rizzo said there was no convincing made for them to locate here because they believe in the capacity of Davao City.

He noted how the city worked on the basic infrastructures that businesses like BPOs would need in a particular place.

“The growing economy of the city is a consideration why we decided to come,” he said.

He said in selecting locations they also pay close attention to the market and where it is going even as he said that their plans are also towards areas where there is availability of talents.

“We have high confidence in Davao,” he said.

He said their clients are premier companies from dominant verticals in the USA, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, and the United Kingdom.

The company is the leading global provider of outstanding customer experience management services which began operation in the Philippine in 1996 and has grown to b a preferred offshore contact center outsourcing option. It operates more than 11,000 workstations from business sites located across Metro Manila, Antipolo, Cebu and Davao City.

Teleperformance Philippines is a member of the Teleperformance Group that was founded in 1978. The Group has been serving companies around the world rolling out customer acquisition, customer care, technical support and debt collection programs on their behalf.

Rizzo said their presence in Davao allows them to nurture diverse talents to meet the anticipated market growth and ensure sustainability of their nationwide operations.

He said there operations here will enable them to continuously support the ICT-BPO industry’s goals of contributing to the nation’s economic growth and competency development of Filipinos.

He also said that they have met a partner like SM that provided them with the right spaces that they need in prime locations like in the case of Davao.

Davao is their 4th SM partnership, the other three are in SM City Fairview, SM City Masinag, Antipolo City and at SM Mall of Asia.

He said Davao is their 11th office in the coutry. The other locations are in Greenfield Pavilion Mall in Mandaluyong City, the Ortigas Center in Pasig City, Alphaland Southgate in Pasay City, Luxur Place, Bacolod City, Tektite Tower, Ortigas Center, Pasig City, Santana Grove, Sucat, Paranaque City and Insular Life, Cebu Business Park, Cebu City.

The possibility of expanding to other areas in Mindanao is a possibility even as Rizzo did not disclose specific areas where there are three sites that they are looking into. (PNA)
