Taste premium quality chocolates at Cacao Mindanao Artisan Chocolate Fair


Experience and savor world-class chocolate products at the Cacao Mindanao Artisan Chocolate Fair in SM City Davao and SM Lanang on May 31 to June 4.

In partnership between SM Supermalls and the Department of Trade and Industry XI, the three-day fair aims to highlight homegrown products in celebration to the milestone law, Republic Act No. 11547, that declares Davao City as Chocolate Capital of the Philippines and Davao Region as Cacao Capital of the Philippines.

The Cacao Mindanao Artisan Chocolate Fair 2024 is also supported by the Davao Regional Cacao Industry Council, Department of Agriculture, Department of Tourism, and City Agriculturist’s Office.

“We, at SM City Davao, have been an advocate for cacao development. Since we mount the first Chocolate Fair in 2014, we are happy to observe the rise of players from cultivating cacao to producing chocolates to the world,” said Engr. Leah Delarmente, mall manager of SM City Davao.

The Cacao Mindanao Artisan Chocolate Fair in SM City Davao is joined by Auro Chocolate, MS3 Agri Venture, Tableya Center, Nutrarich, Coco Dulce, Hao Cacao, Leschocolateries Davao and Cacao City.

In SM Lanang, purveyors include: Malagos Chocolate, Cacao Culture, Coscao Chocolate, Nutrarich, Hao Chocolate, Sikwate!, The Choco Bean, Auro Chocolate, Coco Libre, MS3 Chocolate and Rosario’s Delicacies.

“We invite the public to taste and experience the world-class chocolates and products from our participating purveyors here at the fair,” Delarmented added.

SM Celebrates 2nd Mindanao-wide Chocolate Fair

SM Celebrates 2nd Mindanao-wide Chocolate Fair SM malls in Mindanao will transform into a chocolate paradise to simultaneously celebrate the rich cacao and chocolate industries of the island through the 2nd Cacao Mindanao Artisan Chocolate Fair slated June 2-4, 2023. Mindanao’s best chocolatiers will gather in one roof as SM Lanang, SM City Davao, SM City Mindpro, SM City Gensan, SM City Butuan, and SM CDO Downtown unite in a bid to put the whole Mindanao chocolate industry on the world map.

In Davao City, SM Lanang and SM City Davao joined hands with the City Government of Davao, Department of Agriculture, and the Philippine Cacao Board to showcase the region’s top chocolatiers and cacao producers MS3, Dais Chocolate, Cacao Culture, and Cacao de Davao, Cocolibre Corp., Household Multipurpose Cooperative, Cacao City, Nutrarich Philippines, and Wit’s Sweets & Savouries along with Park Inn by Radisson Davao at malls’ The Atrium and The Annex Event Center, respectively. Different cacao producers and chocolate makers also fill the three-day Cacao Mindanao Artisan Chocolate Fair in SM Lanang Premier, SM City Mindpro in Zamboanga, SM City General Santos and SM CDO Downtown in Cagayan de Oro.

SM City Davao mall manager Lester Tantoco in his brief message during the opening of the Chocolate Fair on Friday, June 2, 2023 he said with SM initiating the holding of the choco fair in the different malls in Mindanao it brings positive impact, especially to the local cacao industry.

“Through this festival, we are able to highlight and promote different cacao enterprises and chocolatiers,” he said.

Meanwhile, SM City Mindpro will also feature nine local and regional cacao growers and processors from Zamboanga City, Zamboanga Del Sur, and Zamboanga Del Norte namely Sindangan FACOMA Community Multi-Purpose Cooperative, Barcelona Innovative Cacao Growers (BICAGROW) Agriculture Cooperative, Midsalip Farmers’ Multi-Purpose Cooperative (MIFAMCO), GASA Processed Foods Manufacturing, Marya Soaps & Scents, Piñan Multi-Purpose Cooperative, Onitz Food Products, and Nanan Multi-Purpose Cooperative.

On the other hand, SM City General Santos aims to promote the chocolate products of cacao producers and processors in the SOCSKSARGEN area. The demand for chocolate in Region XII has grown increasingly which has created multiple opportunities for the region’s local cacao industry and motivated chocolate producers to improve their production and make quality products.

SM CDO Downtown will also highlight local chocolatiers and cacao producers from Misamis Oriental, Camiguin, Bukidnon, and Cagayan de Oro that are now making their names in the industry. These brands are Tsoko Co., Pagmaya Chocolates, Mang Kiko’s Cacao, Jodaca Farms, Tablea ni Mommy Sha, and Sabroso Farm.

The Mindanao-wide chocolate fair is an offshoot of the first celebration of Davao City’s anniversary as the Chocolate Capital of the Philippines following the enactment of Republic Act 11547 on May 27, 2021.
